pubcrock is different things...
aside from being another way of saying hotel ware...
in many ways it's a sum of professional and personal aspects of me... and me is Di Sandilands... a Curious Collector...
a family friend described the little girl version of me as the 60,000 question child - I drove patient people bananas with streams of "why?" and "howcome?"...
over the years I'm the only one of we three kids to develop the Collector gene... and somehow I accidently started collecting Vintage Hotel Ware... I saw a plate at a flea market and wondered about the Venue Name printed on it...
along the way I've also had Music and Musos in my life, so it's a cheeky nod to the Aussie Band term; pub rock...
plus my first Hospitality Job was waitressing in a Rock Star's Restaurant... and I've worked in a cherished Radio Station...
also an Antique Print Gallery...
and amongst it all I've served Royalty and cleaned Truckies' toilets...
now I'm sharing Stories about old Cafes and Hotels by designing & creating Art Tea Towels featuring their crockery... starting with Coles Cafeteria...
I may not have come full circle, but it feels like a wobbly sphere of some description...
and yes - I'm always interested in buying old items related to named Hotels, Cafes, Guest Houses, Tea Rooms, Canteens, etc - and sometimes I sell them too... feel free to get in touch via the Contact Us page.
